Yoga is a dance between control and surrender

Engage in yoga practices to increase attentiveness to your body and take time to relax your body and mind. Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Everybody can benefit from doing yoga!

My journey with yoga started many years ago. I completed the Vinyasa Teacher training & Slow Flow training at Yoga Moves in Utrecht. Yoga has helped me become stronger, more balanced and flexible in body and mind. Yoga and mindfulness go hand-in-hand. When practicing yoga, you learn to shift your awareness to the bodily sensations, thoughts, and emotions that accompany a given pose.

Sun Salutations

A continuous practice of Sun Salutations will bring more strength, flexibility, and tone to the body. It will open the hamstrings, shoulders, and the chest, as well as release tension. As you move through the poses, you are also lubricating the joints, in turn aiding in keeping the full range of motion in the body. See instruction video below.

Qigong

Qigong is de Chinese variant van Yoga, ook wel beschouwd as meditatie in beweging. Qigong is een series van diverse zachte bewegingen die in een rustig tempo wordt uitgevoerd waardoor er een flow ontstaat. Door vloeiende bewegingen te combineren met de ademhaling wordt er gewerkt aan flexibiliteit en ontspanning van het lichaam. Met als doel een vitaal en ontspannen lichaam en alerte geest. Dit draagt bij aan een goede gezondheid en een energiek leven.
